What setup and check-ins save

Setup answers and check-in answers (the day, amount, swap, next step, and on Day 21 the support you would want most) are always saved in your browser first.

• Saving to your QuitSoda profile needs your email link. The setup link in your welcome email and the check-in links in your Day 7, 14, 21, 28 and 30 emails carry a signed code tied to your own subscription. QuitSoda’s server checks that code before anything is sent to Kit. Requests without a valid code are rejected, so typing someone’s email address cannot change their profile.
• Without that link, your answers stay in this browser only.
• Check-in notes stay on your device by default. If you tick the box to save notes to your QuitSoda profile, they are sent to Kit with the other check-in answers.
• Treat your email links like your inbox: anyone you forward them to could update your saved answers.

Browser storage

QuitSoda uses browser localStorage to keep setup and check-in answers available on this device, and sessionStorage to hold the signed code from your email link while that tab is open. If you arrive from a link with campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), those tags and the landing page are kept on this device for up to 30 days so a later signup can credit them. Clearing site data or browser storage removes the local copy. It does not remove information already sent to Kit.

Email, analytics, and affiliate links

Kit processes subscriber information for the welcome email, 30 daily challenge emails, and, when you choose that option, occasional tips and recommendations. When you join, any campaign tags from your landing page are stored with your Kit subscriber record. We use Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-KXVLERKX16 to understand pages viewed, approximate location, device type, and whether key steps happened (signup submitted, setup saved, a check-in saved with its day number, waitlist joined). We never send your email address, the signed code from your email links, or your notes to Google Analytics. Product links on the site and in our emails may use affiliate tracking from Amazon Associates and from partners through Awin, such as Drinkmate®. QuitSoda may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon and our partners may set cookies or similar tracking when you click an affiliate link.

Retention and your choices

We retain your email and associated Kit fields while you are subscribed and for up to 30 days after you unsubscribe so delayed messages and deletion requests can be handled. After that, we delete subscriber data from our working systems, except a minimal do-not-contact record when needed to honor an unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe from any email.
